Lead Voice & Data Technician
If you re the technician others turn to when the job has to be done right, it s time to step into a Lead role. TradeSTAR is seeking experienced Voice & Data Lead Technicians to support one of our trusted client partners on high-profile commercial projects.
In this position, you ll guide teams of Helpers, Level I, II, and III Technicians, ensuring every cable pull, termination, and installation meets the highest standards while keeping projects on track and on time.

Your Role as a Voice/Data Lead Technician:
Leading installation, testing, and troubleshooting of voice and data cabling systems.
Managing project timelines, site layouts, and crew assignments
Working with copper, fiber optics, racks, patch panels, and more
Reading blueprints and technical diagrams to deliver precise installations
Ensure adherence to strict data center protocols, safety standards, and timelines
Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to drive project success
Mentor and develop teams including Helpers, Apprentices, and Level I & II Technicians
What You Need to Succeed:
4-6+ years of structured cabling and network installation experience
2-3+ years leading crews on commercial projects, preferably data centers
Proficient in testing both copper and fiber cables
Leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and efficiency
Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic installation and terminations
Knowledge of industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI certifications a plus)
Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check
