Test and Balance HVAC Control Technician Job Description

• Conduct air and water balancing for HVAC systems to ensure they meet design specifications.
• Test and adjust airflow, static pressure, and hydronic systems for optimal performance.
• Use specialized test equipment such as manometers, anemometers, and flow hoods.
• Read and interpret blueprints, design documents, and equipment specifications.
• Document testing results and prepare detailed reports for project managers and engineers.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other technicians to troubleshoot system issues.
• Use software to interact with Building Automation System
• Make adjustments to fan speeds, pumps speeds, balancing dampers, fan rotation, heating and cooling modes, thermostat operation, damper controls, fan controls, valve positioning and other air/water-side mechanical system operations.

• 1-2 years of experience in HVAC, building systems, or related field (TAB-specific experience preferred).
• Knowledge of HVAC system operation, ductwork, and hydronic systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards (NEBB or AABC certification a plus).
• Must have a Valid Texas Alarm installer license
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License and own transportation.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
