Are you ready to build a long-term career in the low-voltage and telecom industry? We re looking for driven Level I Telecom Technicians to join project teams across San Antonio. If you have basic hands-on skill, a mechanical mindset, and the drive to grow into a senior-level cabling or fiber technician, this is your entry point into a high-demand technical trade.
About the Opportunity / What You ll Do
As a Level I Telecom Technician, you ll support commercial structured cabling installations in office buildings, schools, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, and tech environments. You ll work under experienced technicians and learn the industry from the ground up.
You ll:
Install support structures including J-hooks, bridle rings, cable tray, and ladder rack
Pull, route, and label Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A network cabling
Assist with installing wall plates, workstation outlets, surface-mount boxes, and modular furniture cabling
Perform basic copper terminations (110 punchdown, modular ends, outlet terminations)
Learn standards and best practices based on EIA/TIA guidelines
Support telecom closet work including dressing cable, installing patch panels, and prepping racks
Assist with basic test equipment ( dummy-end testers, continuity testers)
Read and follow basic blueprints, labels, and pathway drawings
Work safely on ladders, lifts, and within active construction environments
Qualifications / Who You Are
6 months to 2 years of telecom/structured cabling experience preferred
Familiar with low-voltage tools including snips, punches, drills, testers, and labelers
Ability to work overhead, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable in fast-paced commercial construction settings
Eager to learn the telecom trade and advance toward higher-level technician roles
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
