TAB Technician - Job Description:

  • As a Test & Balance Technician you will be working with state-of-the-art technology in HVAC controls and automation, responsible for the calibrations, testing and optimization of the Building Automation System’s highest level of efficiency.
  • Conduct site inspections, review mechanical plans, schematics, and specifications.
  • Use testing and balancing skillset in conjunction with test and balance equipment and instrumentation such as air balancing hoods, thermometers, manometers, psychrometers, anemometers, velocity meters, hygrometers, etc.
  • Make adjustments to fan speeds, pumps speeds, balancing dampers, fan rotation, heating and cooling modes, thermostat operation, damper controls, fan controls, valve positioning and other air/water-side mechanical system operations.
  • Make necessary repairs to circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications
  • Establish and maintain proactive communications with customers, suppliers, co-workers and supervisors via phone, in person, or electronic communication in order to communicate progress, issues, status, etc.
  • Make and record final HVAC measurements and operating conditions, and ensure correct building and space pressure
  • Produce concise documentation.
  • Use software to interact with Building Automation System
  • All other duties as assigned
 

Job Requirements

  • NEBB or AABC certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC, Mechanical Services, or Test & Balance.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning is preferred.
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License and own transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
