Structured Cabling Closet Technician Job Description:
Install, route, and secure low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic) in commercial environments, including offices, schools, and data centers, following industry standards and project specifications.
Perform terminations for copper and fiber cabling, including patch panels, keystone jacks, and fiber enclosures, ensuring clean, labeled, and organized connections.
Build out and dress IDF and MDF closets, including rack installation, cable management, ladder rack, grounding, and proper routing for large cable counts.
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and riser diagrams to execute cable pathways and device placements accurately.
Test and troubleshoot installed cabling using certification tools, ensuring all links meet performance standards and project requirements.
Maintain a safe and efficient job site by adhering to OSHA guidelines, company policies, and proper use of tools and equipment.
Basic Requirement:
Must have a Valid Driver s License and own transportation.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Must have all hand/power tools required.
Must have an OSHA 10/30 construction safety certificate/card.
