Job Position: Security & Access Control Technician
Location: College Station, TX 77843
Pay Rate: $25.00 $35.00/hr
TradeSTAR is currently seeking experienced Security & Access Control Technicians for commercial low-voltage projects throughout the College Station area. This position is ideal for technicians experienced in installing, programming, servicing, and troubleshooting commercial access control and integrated security systems.
Responsibilities
Install, terminate, test, and service commercial access control and security systems.
Install door hardware including card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, door contacts, REX devices, and power supplies.
Configure and install IP-based access control systems.
Program and troubleshoot controllers, system hardware, and field devices.
Install and maintain intrusion alarm and integrated security systems.
Read blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and project documents.
Install conduit, cable pathways, and low-voltage cabling as required.
Test and commission completed systems to ensure proper operation.
Complete service reports while maintaining high-quality, code-compliant installations.
Qualifications
3+ years of commercial access control and security experience preferred.
Experience with platforms such as LenelS2, Software House CCURE, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo, Openpath, Gallagher, Honeywell Pro-Watch, or Verkada.
Experience installing and troubleshooting readers, controllers, electric strikes, maglocks, REX devices, and related door hardware.
Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, IP networking, and relay logic.
Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Experience using multimeters and cable testing equipment.
Valid driver's license required.
