Job Position: Licensed Fire Alarm Technician
Pay Rate: $28+/hr
TradeSTAR is hiring Licensed Fire Alarm Technicians for commercial installation, service, inspection, and troubleshooting projects throughout the Austin area. We're looking for licensed professionals who can work independently while delivering quality service and code-compliant installations.
Responsibilities
Install, inspect, program, and service commercial fire alarm systems.
Troubleshoot addressable and conventional systems at both the panel and device level.
Test and commission systems according to project specifications and AHJ requirements.
Diagnose SLC loops, NAC circuits, initiating devices, and notification appliances.
Configure fire alarm control panels and associated devices.
Read blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and sequence of operations.
Complete inspections and accurate service documentation.
Ensure all work complies with NFPA 72, NEC, and manufacturer standards.
Qualifications
Valid Texas Fire Alarm License required.
3+ years of commercial fire alarm experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 72.
Experience with Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Siemens, Edwards/EST, Simplex, Bosch, or Gamewell-FCI systems.
Strong troubleshooting and programming skills.
Experience using multimeters and manufacturer software.
Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams.
Valid driver's license required.
