Job Position: Licensed Fire Alarm Technician
Location: Austin, TX 78758
Pay Rate: $25+/Hour
TradSTAR is hiring a Licensed Fire Alarm Technician for commercial installation, service, inspection, and troubleshooting projects throughout the Austin area. This role is for technicians who already hold a valid fire alarm license and can work independently in the field.
Responsibilities
Install, program, inspect, and service commercial fire alarm systems.
Troubleshoot addressable and conventional fire alarm systems at the panel and device level.
Test and commission systems in accordance with project specifications and AHJ requirements.
Diagnose issues involving SLC loops, NAC circuits, initiating devices, and notification appliances.
Program and configure fire alarm control panels and system devices.
Read and interpret blueprints, risers, wiring diagrams, and sequence of operations.
Perform system inspections and generate accurate service documentation.
Ensure compliance with NFPA 72, NEC, and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
Valid Texas Fire Alarm License required.
3+ years of commercial fire alarm installation/service experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 72.
Experience with major fire alarm systems (Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Siemens, Edwards/EST, Simplex, Bosch, Gamewell-FCI).
Ability to troubleshoot low-voltage fire alarm circuits and panel programming issues.
Experience using multimeters and manufacturer software tools.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and wiring diagrams.
Valid driver s license required.
