Your Role with the Company: As a Level II Voice/Data Technician, your experience and expertise are in high demand. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside the best contractors in Texas on large-scale commercial projects. Your responsibilities include:

  • Applying industry standards and best practices for installing network cabling in commercial structures.
  • Leading or working within a larger installation team.
  • Identifying, pulling, and labeling Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Installing support structures to industry standards independently.
  • Properly terminating Cat5e and Cat6 on the user/workstation end.
  • Roughing out and terminating 110/66 blocks, patch panels, and other equipment and cabling in MDF/IDF/Communications rooms.
  • Handling fiber optic cabling terminations.
  • Reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Operating test equipment proficiently, including 4 pair testers, TDRs, and OTDRs.
  • Identifying cable paths, assisting with surveys, and contributing to bids.
  • Leading small crews of installers to ensure top-notch craftsmanship on a daily basis.
  • Seizing opportunities for further knowledge expansion and career advancement, both in the field and in the office.

Background Profile:

  • 2-4 years of experience in installing network cabling in commercial environments.
  • Proficiency in reading prints and schematics.
  • Ability to independently identify cable paths, pull, label Copper and Fiber cabling, and install support structures.
  • In-depth understanding of industry standards, various color codes, user end terminations for Cat5e and Cat 6 cabling, as well as closet rough-in and trim-out experience.
  • Proficiency in various test equipment, including 4 pair testers, TDRs, and OTDRs.
  • Exposure to fiber optic terminations.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific hand tools for commercial network cabling, such as toners, snips, punch tools, and ringers.
  • Capable of leading small groups of installers in daily network cable installation tasks.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Availability to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
