Your Role with the Company: As a Level I Voice/Data Technician, you'll play a crucial role in installing support structures to industry standards with minimal supervision or guidance. Your responsibilities include:

  • Properly terminating Cat5e and Cat6 cables on the user/workstation end.
  • Identifying, pulling, and labeling Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Collaborating as part of a larger installation team to ensure industry standards and best practices are upheld for network cabling installations in commercial structures.
  • Learning to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Gaining proficiency in advanced color codes.
  • Acquiring skills in using test equipment, among other valuable knowledge.

Background Profile:

  • 1-2 years of experience in installing network cabling in a commercial environment.
  • Capable of independently pulling, identifying, and labeling Copper and Fiber cabling and installing support structures with minimal direct supervision.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, including four-pair color codes, and user-end terminations on Cat5e and Cat 6 cabling.
  • Exposure to using a four-pair tester.
  • Proficiency with industry-specific hand tools related to commercial network cabling, such as toners, snips, punch tools, and ringers.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Availability to work days, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
