Your Role as a Fire Service Technician

As a Fire Service Technician, you’ll ensure fire alarm systems are functioning optimally, following safety codes and standards. This role involves:

• Performing regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• Diagnosing and repairing system malfunctions using specialized tools and equipment.
• Reading blueprints and technical schematics to understand system layouts.
• Programming and reprogramming fire panels to meet client specifications.
• Completing accurate and detailed service reports for every job.

Background Profile

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Experience: At least 2+ years working on fire alarm systems, including testing and servicing.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with NFPA standards and fire alarm components like smoke detectors, pull stations, horns, and strobes.
• Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities and a safety-first mindset.
• Licensing: Possess a current State of Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) or be willing to obtain one.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Transportation: A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Screening: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
