Pay Rate: $25-$35/hr
Description: Licensed Fire Alarm Technician
TradeSTAR is currently hiring experienced Licensed Fire Alarm Technicians for commercial life safety projects in the San Antonio area.
Job Responsibilities
Install, service, troubleshoot, and commission commercial fire alarm systems
Perform installation and maintenance of fire alarm control panels, smoke detectors, pull stations, horn/strobes, heat detectors, monitor/control modules, voice evacuation systems, NAC circuits, and notification devices
Program and troubleshoot addressable fire alarm systems
Perform system testing, inspections, and final commissioning
Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, sequence of operations, and device layouts
Troubleshoot ground faults, open circuits, NAC issues, and communication faults
Maintain inspection reports, service documentation, and as-built drawings
Coordinate with inspectors, project managers, and other trades
Qualifications
Current Texas Fire Alarm License required
3+ years of commercial fire alarm experience
Strong understanding of NFPA 72 and commercial fire alarm codes
Ability to independently diagnose and repair system issues
Reliable transportation and industry-standard hand tools required
Preferred Experience
Experience with Notifier, Silent Knight, EST, Siemens, FireLite, Simplex, Bosch, and Honeywell systems preferred
NICET certification is a plus
