Fiber Optic Technician Job Description:
As a Fiber Optic Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining fiber optic cable systems in commercial settings. Duties include fusion splicing and termination of anaerobic, LC, ST, SC connectors and fiber cassettes. Technicians will perform testing with OTDR equipment and efficiently troubleshoot system issues to ensure optimal performance.
2 5 years of experience in fiber optic cable termination, splicing, and testing
Skilled in installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting CAT5e/CAT6 cable
Working knowledge of BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC standards
Willingness to travel within the state of Texas, including overnight stays as needed
Basic Requirements:
Valid driver s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work a flexible schedule
