We are seeking highly technical professionals with experience in structured cabling installation, copper and fiber termination, pathway systems, network infrastructure, and low voltage systems integration. Technical Responsibilities
Install, route, support, and terminate structured cabling systems in commercial environments
Pull and dress high-volume copper and fiber optic cabling through conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, ladder rack, and underground pathways
Terminate and test CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cabling to TIA/EIA standards
Install and terminate RJ45 keystone jacks, patch panels, surface mount boxes, and modular connectors
Perform fusion splicing, mechanical splicing, polishing, and testing of fiber optic systems
Install backbone cabling between MDFs, IDFs, and telecommunications rooms
Read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, rack elevations, cable schedules, and floor plans
Build and dress network racks, cabinets, ladder tray, and cable management systems
Perform certification testing using Fluke DSX analyzers, OTDRs, power meters, and continuity testers

Qualifications / Who You Are
2+ years of experience in security, access control, or CCTV installation
Familiar with installing and terminating:
Cameras
Card readers
Door hardware (mag-locks, strikes, DPS)
Motion detectors and security devices
Comfortable working on commercial construction sites
Able to read prints and follow directions with minimal supervision
Willing to travel during the project duration

Description: Now Hiring Commercial Cabling Technicians (Levels I III)

TradeSTAR is currently hiring experienced Commercial Cabling Technicians Levels I III for multiple commercial low-voltage projects in the San Antonio area. These positions are with established low-voltage and structured cabling contractors supporting large-scale commercial construction, tenant finish-outs, and infrastructure upgrades.
We are seeking technicians with strong structured cabling experience who can work in fast-paced commercial environments and understand industry installation standards.

Position Responsibilities
Install, route, support, and secure structured cabling systems in commercial facilities
Pull and dress low-voltage cabling through conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, and ladder rack systems
Install and terminate:
o Copper cabling
o Fiber optic cabling
o Voice and data systems
o Wireless access point cabling
o Backbone and horizontal cabling
Terminate and test low-voltage systems including:
o RJ45 terminations
o Patch panels
o 110/66 blocks
o Fiber enclosures and LIUs
Perform cable certification and troubleshooting using industry test equipment
Build and dress MDF/IDF rooms and network racks
Install cable management systems, ladder tray, sleeves, and support infrastructure
Read and interpret:
o Blueprints
o One-line diagrams
o Riser diagrams
o Floor plans
o Cable schedules
Label and document installations per ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
Maintain clean, organized, and safety-compliant work areas

Technician Levels
Level I Technician
Minimum 1 year of commercial cabling experience
Experience pulling cable and assisting with terminations

Level II Technician
2+ years of structured cabling experience
Ability to terminate and test copper cabling independently
Experience reading prints and completing rack builds
Level III Technician
Advanced structured cabling experience
Strong troubleshooting and system testing skills

Fiber termination and certification experience preferred

These positions are with a leading low-voltage contractor specializing in structured cabling, fiber backbone infrastructure, and commercial network deployments.
We are seeking technicians with hands-on experience in fiber optic installation, structured cabling, and commercial low-voltage environments who are comfortable traveling for project-based work.

Job Responsibilities
Install, route, and secure fiber optic backbone and horizontal cabling
Pull fiber through conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, innerduct, and underground pathways
Perform installation of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cable
Dress and manage fiber in MDFs, IDFs, and telecommunications rooms
Terminate fiber using fusion splice and mechanical termination methods
Install and terminate fiber enclosures, LIUs, patch panels, and cassettes
Perform fiber optic testing using:
o OTDR testing
o Power meter/light source testing
o Fiber certification and troubleshooting
Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, rack elevations, and pathway layouts
Install and support structured cabling systems including:
