Fiber Optic Technician Job Description:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in terminating, splicing, and testing fiber optic cabling.
• Perform installation of multimode and single mode fiber optic cabling.
• Fusion splice and terminate anerobic, LC, ST, and SC connectors.
• Perform testing utilizing OTDR tester and proficiency in troubleshooting.
• Familiar with BICSI, EIS, TIA, or NEC standards.
• Proficiency in installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting cat5, cat6, cat6a cabling.
• Must know how to read and interpret commercial blueprints.

• Must have a Valid Driver’s License and own transportation.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have all hand/power tools required.
• Must have an OSHA 10/30 construction safety certificate/card.
